Grounded

Mastermind Group for Women of Color Leaders in Higher Education

Grounded is a curated small group experience crafted to empower and support senior and executive-level women of color as they navigate the distinct challenges of academic leadership. This community-based program offers a safe and collaborative space where participants can connect with peers, share their unique experiences, engage in deep thought partnership, and co-create strategies for overcoming obstacles and achieving success in their respective roles and institutional environments.

Through facilitated group discussions, coaching/brainstorming sessions, and targeted workshops, participants will engage in meaningful discussion on topics such as navigating institutional and identity politics, building resilience in the face of adversity, and developing sustainable self-care practices.

The Grounded curriculum is designed with flexibility, allowing for real-time discussions and exploration of personal and professional implications of current events for leaders (e.g., current global events, social & political movements, national political events & elections, institutional trends & challenges, etc.).

Grounded will offer tools and resources that empower women of color to enhance their leadership skills, strengthen their professional networks, and cultivate a sense of community, upliftment, and support.

WHAT IS A MASTERMIND GROUP?

A mastermind group is a peer-to-peer mentoring group used to help members solve their problems with input and advice from the other group members. It is a gathering of like-minded people who meet frequently in small groups to support, encourage, and learn from each other’s stories, experiences, and ideas, etc.; and hold each other accountable.
